11th Grade Exhibition

City Arts and Tech High School would like to invite you to the 11th grade students' exhibition: What happened to a dream deferred? on Wednesday Evening at 6:00 pm. Juniors will be giving a speech and taking on a character from the 1940's. Please join us for this great exhibition and celebration of learning.

Adjusted Schedule tomorrow Wednesday, November 3rd

Tomorrow's schedule will be adjusted. We are adjusting for city events with the expectation that students be in school on time and for the duration of the school day.

The school day will start earlier at 8:00 am and finish earlier at 10:45 am, tomorrow, Wednesday.
 
Again, It is very important that students attend school tomorrow, Wednesday, November 3rd from 8:00 am-10:45 am.

Family Picnics

Family picnics will be this Friday, September 24th ALL Day. Each family (grade level) will be going to a different park. We're asking all families to contribute food and drinks to picnics. Contact your student's advisor for more information.

9th Grade News

The 9th grade students are starting their Family History Project in Global Studies. Next week, they will be interviewing a family member about their connection to a history-related topic. Later this month they will turn that interview into a narrative and do historical research about the topic. Finally, they will present their work at the Who am I? Exhibition on Thursday, October 28!

Accepted Students 2010-2011: Registration Paperwork Due

Congratulations on your acceptance to CAT! Please be sure you have turned in all parts of the registration packet, including a current report card or transcript. You will be moved to the waiting list if your registration packet is incomplete.

Currently Accepting Applications for 2010-2011 School Year

There are a limited number of spaces still available for 9th, 10th, and 11th grades at CAT next year. For 10th and 11th grade applicants, a transcript is required for a complete application.

Great News! Lottery Numbers Accepted

Applicants that submitted their application PRIOR to the January 29, 2010 application deadline and holding one of the following Lottery Numbers have been ACCEPTED to City Arts & Technology for the Freshman Class, 2010. Acceptance letters and Confirmation Forms will be mailed on Friday, March 5th, 2010 to primary addresses provided on the student application.

2000 - 2027


Applicants who applied AFTER the January 29, 2010 deadline have been waitlisted and will receive a WAITLISTED letter to the primary address provided on the student application. If you have questions concerning your waitlist position, please contact the CAT School Office at 415-841-2200.

We have our auditorium back!

As we move into our final phase of construction, we are happy to announce that the entire school is back in the CAT building (no more portables!) and our newly remodeled auditorium is finished and looks great!

Copies of Native Son

The 11th & 12th grade students in American Literature will be studying the text _Native Son_ by Richard Wright as part of our next unit. This novel will be the basis of our second Grad Portfolio Task in Literature for the year. At this time, we could REALLY use some donations of the book!

Please take a minute to look around your home and see if there are any extra copies you would be okay offering to the kids. Also, there are many cheap used copies available at Amazon.com, if you would like to donate a copy. Copies of _Native Son_ can be sent to the school through your student or colleague OR you can mail the books to:

SENIOR PORTRAITS & MAKE-UP SCHOOL PHOTOS

Don't forget, senior portraits are this THURSDAY (during school hours). There is a $10 sitting fee for seniors who wish to take their portraits that day. We will also provide a drape for the girls, a tuxedo for the guys, and a cap & gown for both. More information to follow.

MAKE-UP school pictures will also be taken for students who: were absent on picture day, or PURCHASED pictures and would like to re-take.
